True Personal Assistance for You and Your Loved Ones
When I was 28 years old, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. I was a newlywed of two weeks and took on the role of caregiver for my father, a role I will never regret. Those memories forever will be cherished. It was, however, at that time that I realized the many challenges we faced. I wanted the best care for my father, yet, I wanted a happy marriage and career. Managing it al seemed emotionally draining at times. There were doctors appointments. He enjoyed eating out. He loved walking in the woods; picking pecans. He loved sharing stories of his time in the Navy during WWII. Yet there were many things he previously but no longer could do for himself. His care required a lot of time and attention–time I didn’t always have. I had to find a way to take care of my family and myself as well.
Since that time, I spent 25 years in the healthcare industry as a sales rep. In 1993 I became a commissioned Louisiana Notary Public. While we are not licensed professional healthcare practitioners, there are many tasks for which we can fill in the gaps. Our knowledge and experience has led us to this labor of love.
